KOZHIKODE: The First Class Judicial Magistrate Court in Kozhikode rejected the bail plea of seven persons including Salim Raj, former gunman of the chief minister, for trying to abduct a youth in the district. The court accepted prosecution’s argument that if bail is granted to them, they may influence the witness.
Rejecting the plea, the court said, “What Salim Raj and his aides did was a serious offence. The action is not suitable for a civilized society and will only help to create anarchy in the society”.
