IPL Council upholds BCCI decision on Kochi team

Friday, October 14, 2011: The IPL Governing Council which met here Friday upheld the BCCI decision to suspend Kochi Tuskers Kerala from IPL.
The Kochi franchise has been scrapped from the cash-rich league for breach of contractual obligation. Only nine teams will play in the next IPL season.
A number of top players like Mahela Jayawardene, Muthiah Muralitharan, S Sreesanth, VVS Laxman, Brendon McCullum and RP Singh played for Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the last edition and now face an uncertain future.
