Trial begins in Kiliroor case

Monday, October 24, 2011: The trial in the sensational Kiliroor sex scandal case began at CBI Court, Thiruvananthapuram, on Monday.
The case relates to sexual exploitation of a girl named Shari from Kiliroor, near Kottayam, by the accused after offering her roles in television serials.
The accused in the case are are Praveen, 24, and Manoj, 19, both conductors attached to the Guruvayur depot of the Kerala State Transport Corporation (KSRTC); Latha Nair of Mallappalli; Binu alias Kochumon, 30, of Kottayam; Prasanth, 23, conductor at the KSRTC Guruvayur depot; Somanathan alias Soman, 46, of Kumali; Abdul Lathif alias Collector Lathif, 52, and V.K. Devadas, 47.
The Ernakulam CJM Court had earlier made the prime accused in the case Omanakutty an approver.
