Special team to probe attack on CM’s ancestral house

Saturday, October 22, 2011: A special probe team has been constituted to conduct an investigation into the incident in which unidentified miscreants on Thursday night threw stones at the ancestral house of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
The case has been taken over by a investigation team headed by Crime detachment DySP NM Thomas. According to the police, the incident occurred at around 8.30 p.m. when miscreants threw stones at the house and fled the scene. The rear windshield of a car parked in front of the house was broken.
Later, Rural Development Minister K.C. Joseph visited the house and took stock of the situation. Police security has been strengthened in and around the house following the incident.
Meanwhile, Congress activists took out a protest march to Puthupally junction demanding arrest of those responsible.
