THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government will hike the bus fares in the state before October 10. The government during talks held with bus owners decided to entrust a fare revision committee led by justice Ramachandran to make a study on the hike in fares. Following the decision, private buses that planned an indefinite strike from Oct 1 has been withdrawn.
The first sitting of the commission will be held on September 24. The commission after holding talks with many including private bus owners will submit the report before Sept 30. Transport Minister Aryadan Muhammed said a decision on the hike in bus fares will be taken before October 10.
