Thilakan's versatility endeared film buffs

KOZHIKODE: Admired for his versatility, Actor Thilakan, who passed away, will be remembered by Malayalam film buffs for ever, actor Mammootty Monday said. Talking at a memorial meet here, he said Thilakan will remain in the memory of film lovers in the State as long as Malayalam cinema existed. Mammootty, who acted with the versatile actor in many films, said Thilakan played grandfather not only to him but also his son Dhulfiqar Salman in the recently released 'Ustad Hotel.'

Recollecting his association with the veteran actor, well known director Ranjith, in whose film 'Indian Rupee' Thilakan played a prominent role, said it was not fair to criticise a person after his death. Though Thilakan criticised many in the industry due to various reasons, he never had enmity with anybody, he said. Condoling the death, actress Kavvya Madhavan said Thilakan always encouraged talented upcoming artistes. Actor Mamukkoya also mourned the death.
