Rahul must take up AICC leadership, says Chennithala

KOTTAYAM: KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala Monday reiterated that  Rahul Gandhi should become the Vice-president of the AICC.

In reply to question at a meet-the-press programme of the Kottayam Press Club, he said Rahul Gandhi should take up the leadership of the party in order to strengthen it for the 2014 Parliament Elections.

Charging the CPI (M) with pursing 'murder politics', he appealed it to give up this agenda. Referring to the demand for CBI probe into T P Chandrasekharan Murder Case he said after a logical conclusion of the present inquiry, the government would discuss the matter with all concerned, including TP’s wife Rama and take an appropriate decision on it.

In reply to question on the cancellation of Air India flights from the state to Gulf countries, the KPCC President strongly criticized the action and said it could not be justified under any circumstance. Referring to the Janasree and Kudumbasree controversy he said Janasree was an NGO.

It had the right to present projects before the state and central governments.

There was nothing new in that. Referring to Kudumbasree, he said it was an organization of the Congress too. The KPCC President expressed his condolence over the demise of stage and film actor Thilakan.
