Govt curbs movement of fuel tankers in state


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The high level meet convened by the chief minister decided to curb the movements of fuel tankers in the state.

The meet decided not to allow the lorries to conduct services from 8 am to 10 am and between 4 to 6 pm. But they will not be restricted during night time. The meet decided to make mandatory of having two drivers for all tanker lorries.

The safety of the tankers will be in the hands of oil companies and contractors. If accidents occur, case will be registered against oil companies.

Ministers Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Minister Aryadan Muhammed, oil company officials and owners of tanker lorries attended the meeting.
