Govinda Pillai bags award



THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Marxist ideologue and writer P Govinda Pillai has been selected for the P N Panicker award for this year. The award comprises Rs11,111 in cash, a citation, and plaque. The jury headed by chairman of the P N Panicker Foundation V RKrishna Iyer and including Pannian Ravindran, M Vijayakumar, Palode Ravi, and N Balagopal unanimously selected Pillai for the award for his contributions to society as a political leader, library activist, people’s representative, writer, journalist and orator. The award will be given away at a function to be held in November.
