Man held for sexual assault on minor boy

KOZHIKODE: A 45-year-old man was arrested on the charge of sexually abusing a standard three student here.  A police team led by sub-inspector Yusaf Nadtharammel arrested N Moideen, on the basis of a complaint lodged by the mother of the eight-year-old boy. She said in her complaint that the accused had been sexually exploiting her son for the past one-and-a-half years. Moideen was charged under Section 377 (unnatural offences) and Section 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. He was produced before the Thamarassery Judicial First Class Magistrate Court and was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. Investigators were also examining whether the accused had sexually abused other children, the police said.
