No action against Desdhabhimani correspondent for phone tapping



KOZHIKODE: The home department has temporarily halted proceedings against K M Mohandas, the correspondent of Deshabhimani daily who tapped the phone of DySP Josy Cherian, special invstigating officer of T P Chandrashekharan murder case.

All the files pertaining to this issue had been moved to the office of SP T K Rajmohan.

The government does not see Mohandas as accused in the case and hence Vadakara rural police had been directed not to record his statement until notified.

At the same time, proceedings against R S Sanal Kumar, junior accountant of principal manager office, BSNL, is to be continued as evidence against him has been gathered.

According to police, no evidence of Mohandas’s association with Sanal Kumar could be collected.

Sources from SP office clarifies that the investigation has not been put to halt and  is going on in full swing.
