KODUGALLOOR: A man was shot dead by his elder brother at Kallada Residency Bar hotel at Shanthipuram in Kodungalloor at 7 pm on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Babu (52), son of Krishnan from Punnaikkapparambil in Eriyad.The elder brother Raghunath, who resides at Kozhikode, has been taken into custody. Both the siblings met at the hotel to settle feud over a property. Raghunath had pointed the gun towards their eldest brother Karthikeyan and Eriyad Grama Panchayath President E.V. Ramesh before he tried to escape. But the police caught him from near Babu’s house. Karthikeyan and Ramesh had come to mediate the dispute.
Babu was shot in his left chest. Though the police took him immediately to Modern Hospital in Kodungalloor, Babu died. He was the owner of Ruby Group Bus Services. He had been to Gulf for a many years.
Babu’s body which is kept at Modern Hospital will be cremated today after postmortem. Preethi is his wife. Aju and Reshma are his children.
