Thousands gather at Onam Extreme


THIRUVANANTHAPUAM: Thousands of people flocked into Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium in the capital city to participate in the Onam Extreme organized by Kerala Kaumudi as part of Onam celebrations. Special “extreme” feasts were arranged for the people.

The music and dance programme commenced at 7 pm after Kerala Kaumudi and New Rajasthan Marbles lighted the lamps. Photos which describes the history of century old daily Kerala Kaumudi were displayed. A stage presentation of the title song of Kerala Kaumudi followed. The song was written by ONV Kurup and composed by Ramesh Narayan.

Actor turned director Vineeth Sreenivasan, singers Anna Katharina Valayil, Rakesh Brahmanandan, Sachin Warrier, and comedian Suraj Venjarammoodu performed at the function.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was the chief guest of the function. He presented the first copy of ‘Flash Movies’, a film magazine from the house of Kerala Kaumudi, to Vineeth Sreenivasan.

Ministers A.P. Anil Kumar, V.S. Sivakumar, Shashi Tharoor MP, Palode Ravi MLA, Mayor Adv. K. Chandrika, former minister M. Vijayakumar, Kerala Kaumudi Managing Director M.S. Ravi, Managing Editor Deepu Ravi and Marketing Director Darshan Ravi, film directors K. Madhu, V.K. Prakash, K3A State Vice President Sasthamangalam Mohan, chief sponsor of the programme New Rajasthan Marbles MD Vishnu Duttan, co-sponsor NIMS Hospital DGM Sujith, etc. attended the function.
