E. Sreedharan writes to KMRL, State and Central governments

KOCHI: Resisting the move to avoid including him and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in Kochi Metro Project, Metro Man E. Sreedharan wrote letters to Kerala Minister Aryadan Muhammed, central Urban Development Ministry, and the Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL), clarifying that there is nothing which bars DMRC from getting the execution power of the project since DMRC is not a consultancy of Kochi Metro Project.

The advisor of Kochi Metro Project and former DMRC Chief, Sreedharan also said the central government can hand the project to DMRC.

‘Kerala Kaumudi’, on September 11, had reported the stance of KMRL that execution power of the project could not be handed to DMRC according to the conditions of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), Central Public Enterprises Department, and Central Finance Ministry.

Sreedharan, in his letter, says DMRC has not been appointed as the consultancy of the project. The consultancy contract has not been signed.
