SFI wins MG varsity polls


Kottayam , Oct 13, 2012: The Students Federation of India (SFI) has taken control of the students’ union in 22 out of the 28 colleges affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University that went to polls on Friday, according to SFI sources.

The SFI also wrested control over the University Union by winning 36 out of the 46 posts.

The Kerala Students Union took control of the students’ union in four colleges, out of which two have been formed without a coalition.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) was able to register a victory in one college union.

None of the unions were able to gain a majority at St. Dominic’s College, Kanjirappally.
