VS alleges conspiracy over Sreedharan's role in Kochi Metro

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan Saturday alleged that the state government was involved in a conspiracy to avoid the role of E Sreedharan from the Rs 5,000 crore Kochi Metro Rail Project. Addressing a press conference here, he said the government was playing 'hide-and-seek' on the metro project, creating an 'uncertain situation'.

Top official in the centre and the governments including former Kochi Metro Managing Director Tom Jose were looking for commissions in the project, he alleged. Clarifying that why he avoided the inauguration of the foundation stone laying ceremony of Kochi Metro Project, he said now Union Minister A K Antony could understand that why he did not attend the function.

Earlier, Antony had said Achuthanandan had played a major role in the metro rail and regretted his absence at the inaugural ceremony.
