Society should follow rule of law



KANNUR: Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said the government cannot take vindictive action or hunt people but society should follow rule of law. Inaugurating tele-medicine facility in Kannur Central Jail, he said the government was committed to protect human rights of every citizen and modern governance would be provided to all people. He assured that inmates who followed rule would be given facilities in jail.  He said many of people would have committed crime due to emotional outburst but the government would protect them at jails. He said jail environment should help inmates in reforming themselves and joining normal life. Dr Alexander Jacob, Director General of Prisons, said Kannur Central Jail was the first jail launching the tele-medicne facilities to inmates in South India. "Till Now tele-medicine system was in Bhopal district jail. But now the system has been brought in Kannur central jail wherein inmates would get tele-medicine facilities. K M Shaji, MLA, presided over the function. District Medical Officer Ramesh R and local bodies people representatives also attended.
