30 Village Courts to be opened: K.M. Mani


NEW DELHI: Kerala Finance Minister K.M. Mani said on Sunday that 30 Village Courts would be opened and that notification regarding this has been issued. Steps would be taken to start Village Courts in all Grama Panchayats.

Mani said this at the meeting of Chief Ministers and High Court Justices presided over by Supreme Court Chief Justice Altamas Kabir.

Kerala is at third place in matter of settling stagnant cases. The percentage of settling cases is 32. About 38 Fast Track Courts has been converted into Additional District Sessions Courts.

27 Judicial First Class Magistrate Courts will also be started. Five Evening Courts, 6 Family Courts and a Special Court for settling cases of women and children will be opened soon.
