Congress to boycott Modi in Sivagiri

KOZHIKODE: KPCC chief Ramesh Chennithala said the Congress will boycott the function in Sivagiri attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Chennithala said none of the Congress leaders will attend the function Wednesday evening along with Narendra Modi.

Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan had earlier stated that he will boycott the function.

A decision on those coming to Sivagiri has to be taken by the sanyasis of the Sivagiri Mutt. The mutt is celebrating the post-centenary of installation of Vidyadevatha idol at its premises today.

As the congress cannot accept Modi, it is difficult to share the dais with Modi, he said.

Visiting T P Chandrasekharan’s wife K K Rema at her house in Onchiyam, Chennithala said the witnesses in the case are turning hostile due to the threat of the CPM. The CPM is trying to sabotage the case, he said. Chennithala visited her as part of his Kerala Yatra.
