THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to initiate steps to bring back Malayali nurses in strife-torn Iraq to Kerala.
Minister K C Joseph informed the Assembly about the letter on Thursday. “The Centre should bear the expense for transporting the nurses back to Kerala. If the Centre is not ready for it, the State government will take care of the expense,” said K C Joseph.
KPCC president V M Sudheeran also has sent a letter to the prime minister to express similar sentiments.
