KANNUR: In an urgent meeting called by Kannur DCC on Friday, the party unit decided to give its complete support to A P Abdullakuty, who is facing sexual harassment allegations from Solar scam accused Saritha S Nair.
DCC president K Surendran said in a press conference that the MLA had been asked to take a proactive role in the activities of his Assembly constituency. He said the media is cooking up stories about Abdullakutty. “These are baseless reports. He has not informed the chief minister about his willingness to resign. He has also not given any complaint against DCC. The media should desist from spreading such false news,” he said.
Abdullakutty himself has clarified that news about his resignation bid is wrong. “I have not given complaint against DCC. Whenever I was in crisis, the party and district leadership had stood by me,” he added.
