KANNUR: A woman was found strangled to death at her rented quarters near Cherukunnu Girls Higher Secondary school on Saturday. The victim was identified as Pullan Kadavathu Ramlath (42), wife of Abdul Rauf. The shocking incident reportedly took place around 3 in the morning.
According to the police, Rauf, 48, wound a shawl around Ramlath’s neck and strangled her to death. Soon after the incident, jittery Rauf called up his friend and told him about the incident. The friend suddenly informed Kannapuram police.
The couple has three wards and among them two sons are working in a Gulf country. Their daughter was in a relative’s house during the incident. The police said Rauf doubted his wife, perhaps, the reason which prompted him to kill her.
