Drunk police SP urinated inside jeep, created trouble for fellow officers; later faced disciplinary action

KOZHIKODE: A police SP created fuss and trouble for his fellow officers under the influence of liquor. Crime Branch SP who took charge of Kozhikode-Wayanad districts on June 10, went straight to a liquor outlet after arriving at the railway station. Fellow officers had arranged welcome programs for the SP. He then rented a room at a hotel and got drunk. As disciplinary action, the officer was sent to Thiruvananthapuram.

On noticing the behaviour of the SP, other officers thought he might be sick. But after finding a liquor bottle in the jeep, things became clear. The SP changed his stay to police club. He then said about the death a top cop’s brother. While inside the official vehicle, the influence of liquor got to his brain.

The SP puked inside the vehicle. He then urinated inside the vehicle on his return journey. The police driver had to clean all of this. On returning to the police club, he continued drinking for two days without reporting for duty. Commissioner received a complaint from the room supervisor on the incident. Officials from the commissioner officer found the SP in a drunken state, which was reported to higher authority. As the incident became public, the state special branch conducted a probe. After finding that the SP is accountable for all the fuss, he was sent to Crime Branch headquarters on June 23 as disciplinary action.
