AG asked to give explanation before State Cabinet
Sunday, December 4, 2011: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Sunday asked Advocate General KP Dandapani, who made controversial statements in the High Court which allegedly contradicted the state’s stand on the Mullaperiyar dam issue, to give his explanation at the next Cabinet meeting.
He had earlier met the chief minister at his residence at Puthuppally and had reportedly told the chief minister that he had not made any mistake and that he had only presented the government stand before the High Court.
Kerala Cabinet will hold an emergency meeting here tomorrow at 10 p.m. in the wake of the Mullaperiyar issue.
Dandapani, who was in the eye of storm for the comments he made in the High Court on Mullaperiyar, will explain his stand at the meeting.
The Cabinet will then take a decision on whether or not to remove the AG from the post.
