Tuesday, December 27, 2011: Labour and Civil Supplies Minister Shibu Baby John today opined that the state government would take necessary steps to carefully scrutinize the list of APL-BPL card holders in the state.Speaking to the reporters here on Tuesday, Minister added that he has instructed the Civil Supplies department to prepare a clear-cut list of APL-BPL families in the state. He said measures were being taken to overcome the shortcomings in the list.
The decision regarding this has been taken based on rising number of complaints against the irregularities and flaws in the preparation of list of APL, BPL card holders. There are several complaints that the ineligible APL families are being listed in the BPL category and vice-versa.
