Sunday, December 25, 2011: Preparations are nearing completion for the Mandala Pooja, marking the concluding ritual of the 41-day-long first phase of the annual pilgrimage season, slated to be held on December 27. The Mandala Pooja, the pooja after adorning the Thanka Anki on the idol of Lord Ayyappa, will be held at 1 p.m.
Kalabahbhishekam would be the special ritual to be held in connection with the Mandala Pooja . As part of the kalabhabhishekam, kalabhakalasa pooja will be conducted by Thantri Kandararu Maheswararu in the presence of Melsanthi N Balamurali at Nalambalam at 11.30 a.m.After the kalabhakalasa pooja, the procession carrying the kalabhakalasam will be taken to the temple by circumambulating the sreekovil.
Temple to be Closed at 11 p.m. on Dec 27: The temple will be closed at 11 p.m. after athazha pooja and Harivarasanam at 11 p.m. on December 27.
Makaravilaku Season to begin on Dec 30: The temple will reopen for the 21-day Makaravilaku season at 5.30 p.m. on December 30.
Kalabhabhishekam from Jan 1 to 14: Kalabhabhishekam will be conducted in the temple from January 1 to 14.
Makarasamkrama pooja: The auspicious Makarasamkrama pooja will be held at the temple at 12.58 a.m. on January 15.
Makaravilaku on January 15: The annual Makaravilaku, after adorning Thiruvabharanam on the idol of Lord Ayyappa , will be conducted at 6.30 p.m. on January 15.
Procession from Malikappuram temple : The annual procession of Malikappuram Devi will be taken out from the temple from January 15 to January 19.
Guruthi on Jan 20: Annual ‘Guruthi’ ritual at Malikappuram will be conducted at 11 p.m. on January 20.
Darsan for pilgrims till Jan 20: The darsan facilities for the pilgrims will be allowed till 11 p.m. on January 20.
Temple to be closed on Jan 21: Lord Ayyappa temple will be closed at 7 a.m. on January 21 after the customary darsan of the representative of Pandalam Raja.
