KOCHI: The Kerala High Court directed the state government to file an affidavit after detailing the steps taken in trafficking children from other states to Kerala.
A division bench led by Chief Justice Manjula Chellur expressed displeasure on the steps taken by the government in the trafficking case. The incident is shocking and embarassing, the bench said. Asking whether they were brought for child labour, the court said they cannot sit idle in the issue.
The court said the guilty will not walk free and the incident has put the government in an embarrassing situation. The government should not try to shield any big shots if involved in the case. They should be brought before law and punished.
