Nurses’ night duty reduced
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The number of night duty days for government staff has been reduced from six to three, through a government order. If they work on night shifts for three consecutive days, they will be eligible for a day’s off.
For the past several years they have had to work for six consecutive days. The new decision will bring succor to thousands of nurses under DME and DHSC. Kerala Government Nurses Union State General Secretary A Asokan Thampi has congratulated Health Minister V S Sivakumar for the new decision.
