NEW DELHI: The CPM has decided to take back former party Ernakulam district secretary Gopi Kottamurikkal, expelled from the party after found guilty of sexual demeanour. The central committee meeting convened yesterday approved the decision of the state panel to take him back. The central committee also permitted to recall Shornur municipality former vice chairman M R Murali.
Gopi Kottamurikkal was expelled from the party in June 2012 after a hidden camera controversy. He was first expelled from the district secretary post and then from the party.
Murali was expelled from the party after he refused CPM Ottappalam area committee’s demand to resign his vice chairman post of Shornur municipality.
