Thursday, September 15, 2011: Agriculture Minister K.P Mohanan today
informed that the anomalies in the Kuttanad package would be rectified
soon. A new special officer has been appointed for the implementation of
the Kuttanad package, Minister said.
Speaking to the reporters here on Thursday, Minister added that the
insufficiencies in the construction of protection walls and bunds in
Kuttanad would be corrected.
It is alleged that the poor techniques used to put up bunds have
resulted in repeated bund breaches, which in turn have caused
large-scale crop loss every year in the region.
