According to reports, the girl was often sexually harassed in vehicles like cars and autorickshaws and that as many 11 persons had harassed her.
The incident came to light after the authorities of the school where she studied informed the police about the incident. Mohemmedali (the girl’s father) had earlier taken his daughter to hospital for pregnancy test which proved positive.
He had reportedly forced the hospital authorities to subject the girl to Medical Termination of Pregnancy. But, the hospital authorities informed the matter to the school authorities who in turn tipped the police. Meanwhile, the local people said the girl might have been presented to more than 100 persons during the last one year. One of her classmates is also said to have sexually harassed her.
