Five-tier security proposed for Padmanabhaswamy temple


Thursday, September 29, 2011: The Kerala police has proposed for a five-tier security system for the Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple following the recovery of several precious articles valued upto Rs one lakh crore during the process of inventory of the temple vaults.
The decision regarding this was taken at a police high level meeting convened by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here. The cost for enforcing this security system in the temple is estimated to be Rs 40 crore, sources said.
This security system is being enforced to resist the all sorts of attacks from sea, air and land. As part of the first phase 60 surveillance cameras would be installed in the temple followed by radar, satellite monitoring systems, police told.
