'Judge’s resignation won’t end the problem'

KOTTAYAM: Government Chief Whip P C George has said the resignation of the Vigilance Court Judge P K Haneefa will not put an end to the issue raised by him in connection with court order in the palmolein case. He added that he would continue to take up the issue unless he got a satisfactory reply.
Earlier, he told reporters that the judge  had quit as his conscience troubled him because of committing procedural error by ordering probe into the palmolein case. Suspecting a big conspiracy behind the whole issue, George wondered how did the CPM leader Aanathalvattam Anadan predicted the judge’s plan to submit resignation. On Opposition leader VS Achuthanandan’s charge that George had links with quotation gangs, he said ‘If I am a member of the quotation team, V S Achuthanandan is the ‘boss’ of it.

On Pinarayi Vijayan flaying him on the judge issue, he said “The CPM secretary has ‘no locus standi on finding fault with me. He is not worth for getting a reply from me,” he said. Referring to Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s remarks against George, he said ‘I would have to open up the discussion on the Kiliroor Shari incident and other similar incidents. When asked to specify on the Kiliroor case, George said he would do it on an appropriate time.

He said he would continue to fire salvos each day to silence his critics. “This will create ripples in Kerala politics,” he said.  DYFI Activists Show Black Flags at GeorgeDYFI activists have shown black flags and raised slogans against Government Chief Whip P C George, who on Saturday refused to budge to the Opposition’s demand to quit his post in the wake of the Vigilance Court Judge probing palmolein case has submitted resignation letter.
