Doctors’ strike cripples MCH functioning in T’puram

Saturday, September 03, 2011: Normal operations at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital were affected after PG doctors went on a flash strike as a protest against the incident in which one of the duty doctors was manhandled by a patient’s relatives on Friday night.

Many people including patients are standing before the OP block. Many of the doctors including PG doctors are partaking in the strike.
The scuffle started last night when Meera Sahib, native of Azhikode died of cardiac arrest and the patient’s relatives alleged that he had died due to negligence of the duty doctor.
The duty doctor identified as Dr Belwan and Dr Kripesh were manhandled by the patient’s relatives alleging delay in the treatment. Belwan is under treatment in the hospital.
