September 5, 2011: Former Vijayapuram Bishop Peter Thuruthikonam
passed away at a private nursing home at Kochi today. He was 82.
The former bishop was leading a retired life for the last five years.
He was taken to hospital last Monday following heart, kidney and other
old age related ailments.
His condition worsened last night and the end came at 06: 50 am
today. Mortal remains of the bishop will be brought at Vijayapuram
Bishop House here and kept for public homage. The funeral will be held
at Vimalagiri Cathedral here tomorrow, family sources said.
