Hearing on SSLC paper leak case adjourned

KOCHI: The Ernakulam CBI special court on Friday adjourned the final hearing of the SSLC question paper leakage case to September 23. The examination of witnesses had completed earlier before the Special court Judge S Vijayakumar.
Bindhu Vijayan of Vanchiyoor, Thiruvananthapuram, a housewife, and Sindhu Surendran of T Nagar, Chennai, are the accused in this case. 


The prosecution case is that in January 2005, the duo entered into a conspiracy with K Suresh, a casual employee of Viswanathan (Printers and Publishers) Pvt Ltd, Chetpet, Chennai where the question papers of SSLC examination 2005 were printed, to steal the SSLC question papers from the press to help Bindhu’s son, who was to appear for the SSLC examination that year.Suresh managed to get question papers of   model examination and SSLC examination in March 2005 and handed over them to Sindhu, who forwarded them to Bindhu via  Professional Couriers.The offence alleged against Bindhu and Sindhu, the first and second accused respectively, are 120B (conspiracy), 381 (theft by servant of property in possession of master) and 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the Indian Penal Code. Suresh was also an accused in this case, but he has been made an approver by the CBI.
