Ice-cream parlour case: VS hits out at Kunhalikutty

September 09, 2011: CPM veteran V S Achuthanandan, who approached the Kerala High Court demanding a CBI probe into the ice cream parlour sex scandal, said even people close to IUML leader P K Kunhalikutty are extending help for fighting the case.
Kunkalikutty, who is embroiled in the case, had recently said without naming Achuthanandan that “some political leaders with the help of criminals are filing cases. People know their objective”. He had also questioned the source of income for those fighting cases against him, as they were being represented by leading advocates.

Achuthanandan, the Leader of Opposition, had on September 2 approached the high court seeking CBI probe into the case registered on the basis of disclosures by a relative of Kunhalikutty that he (Kunhalikutty) had allegedly tried to influence witnesses in the sex scandal. Achuthanandan told reporters today that the cases are fought “with the help extended by the people”.
“Kunhalikutty will be surprised to see that even people who are very close to him are extending help for fighting the cases, “the CPI-M leader said, adding he would disclose the source of his income after the case is completed.
Achuthanandan charged that “it is Kunhalikutty, who is behind cases being filed against my son. But they will not stand (in the court of law),”he said.
