Tuesday, September 20, 2011: The Pathanamthitta police on Tuesday
arrested one more person in connection with Mezhuveli co-operative bank
burglary case in which cash and gold worth Rs 1.15 crore was looted.
The accused has been identified as Gireesh (27 years), the police
have seized some gold ornaments and cash from his home. The
investigation team informed that investigation report would be soon
submitted before the High Court.
The burglary took place on August 22, 2011. Iron rods and a gas cutter were found on the bank premises.
Burglars entered the bank from its rear side using iron cutters and
other equipment and also broke into the safety vault of the bank, police
said.
