Polygraph test held on Mithila murder suspeect

KOCHI: The Crime Branch officials carried out the polygraph test on Martin, one of the suspect in the murder of liquor baron Mithila Rajan, at the Thiruvananthapuram Forensic Laboratory on Friday.
The test was conducted in the wake of  Martin’s confession to his involvement in the murder at a night party in Dubai. The police have earlier quizzed Martin in connection with the murder. It is said that Martin was in a drunken state when he admitted to his involvement during a party in Dubai.The police sought judicial permission to conduct polygraph test which was granted after hearing the accused last month.

V M Mohanan, owner of Mithila Bar Hotel, Eramalloor, was shot dead by unidentified persons at his residence at Palarivattom on April 6, 2006.The police collected empty cases of bullets from the site of the crime. The police suspected business rivalry behind  the crime and confirmed that the deceased was shot by a 0.32 revolver.The case was handed over to the Crime Branch on June 17 but no one could be arrested in the case until now.
