Thursday, September 01, 2011: A six-year old girl drowned when she fell into a canal from a wooden bridge while trying to cross it, police said.
Devachandana, a first standard student of a private school here, fell into the canal along with her mother but the latter was rescued, police said. Devachandana was on her way to her school when the mishap occurred, they said.
