Achuthanandan lashes out at T K Hamsa

Friday, May 25, 2012: CPM veteran VS Achuthanandan today lashed out at at his party colleague T K Hamsa for making certain sarcastic remarks against him in the context of the intensification of feud in the state unit of the party.
Hamsa, a staunch supporter of CPI(M) state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, had recently said at a public meeting in Malappuram that Achuthanandan had always ditched the party whenever it was in a difficult situation.
When reporters sought his comment, Achuthanandan said Hamsa knew nothing about the party as he was in the Congress when the CPI(M) was formed at the initiative of leaders like Musafar Ahamed, Jyoti Basu and AK Gopalan.
“Hamsa joined the CPI(M) much later and he has benefited from that by becoming MLA, minister and MP. But the utter nonsense mouthed by Hamsa does not deserve a reply”, he said.
The long-drawn feud in the CPI(M) in Kerala has intensified in the wake of recent murder of party rebel and RMP leader TP Chandrasekharan.
Achuthanandan had taken serious objection to the way the rebels were treated by the state leadership under Vijayan and had written to party general secretary Prakash Karat seeking his intervention in the state affairs.
