SIT nabs one in TP murder case


KOZHIKODE: In a major breakthrough, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leader T P Chandrasekharan Wednesday nabbed one of the suspected assassins in the case.


Sources said Srijesh alias Annan, who was believed to be a member of the 'quotation gang' that assassinated the RMP leader at Vallikkode near here on May 4, was nabbed in the neighbouring Karnataka. Srijesh, who sustained injuries while executing the crime, fled the state after undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Thalassery in Kannur. He was arrested on the tip off provided by another accused, who helped him to carry out the heinous crime, the sources added.


Srijesh told police that Kodi Suni entrusted him for the job and is one among the seven-member team involved in the murder.


Srijesh produced in a court at nearby Vadakara has been remanded to police custody for 14 days.
