Palakkad: Two students drown in stone quarry pit

Thursday, May 24, 2012: Two students drowned in a stone quarry trench located near Panniyam Padam here on Thursday morning. The deceased have been identified as Rahul and Viswam, both hailing from Panniyam Padam, police told.
According to the police reports the accident occurred while the students were bathing in the quarry pit. The bodies were fished out from the quarry with the help of the fire and rescue personnel along with the local residents.
