Man run over by train

THRISSUR: An elderly man was knocked to death by the Shoranur-bound Venad Express near the Punkunnam Railway gate on Tuesday. The dead was identified as V A Venu Nair, 82, a former employee of the United Oriental Insurance of Malaysia. He lived at New Agraharam in Punkunnam. He had crossed the track when the railway gate was closed.
