Youth stabs woman, inflicts injuries on self

KANNUR: A youth stabbed his lover, a married woman, in her house at Pappinnissery, near Valapatnam. Police said after stabbing the woman, he cut the veins of his two hands. The youth and the woman were admitted to Pariyaram Medical College (PMC) Hospital with serious injuries. Abhilash, working as a pump operator at Thalassery and hailing from Thrissur, forced his way into her house at Pappinissery near Railway Station. After entering the bedroom, he locked the door from inside and stabbed her in the stomach and the neck. Then Abhilash cut the veins of both hands and fell unconscious.

The woman's brother heard his sister screaming and broke open the doors. He then shifted her to a private hospital from where she was taken to PMC Hospital. Police and locals shifted Abhilash also to PMC Hospital. The woman's husband was working as a medical representative and had some family problem. Abhilash and woman had known each other for the last two years and the reason for the incident was not known, police said.
