Ministers to meet PM



KOCHI: Cabinet ministers would interact with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who is in the state for a two-day visit, on various demands to the state. Informing this to reporters, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said, the government had sent a letter to the Prime Minister's office earlier in this regard and the demands would be based on that. Planning Board vice chairman would also be in the delegation of Ministers to discuss about the demands of the state.

Chandy also said delegates from 52 countries, including 23-delegates from China would take part in the Emerging Kerala 2012 which is to be kicked off here from Wednesday. Besides delegates, ambassadors from various countries and businessmen and industrialists would attend in the meeting, he said, adding it was a great recognition to the state that despite economic recession such a large representation from various countries. Reiterating that no projected has formulated or pre-planned so far, he said the meeting would be an open platform and the new ideas emerged out in the meeting would be discussed and pick up the most suitable and viable to the state.
