Malappuram: Moral attack on youth in Malappuram. The youth was attacked in Tirur. A group of youths attacked a youth, Chachi Salmanul Harris, by morality police for allegedly harassing the girl through WhatsApp. The incident occurred around 4 pm last Tuesday.
Twenty-three-year-old Salmanul Harris, who was attacked, is a mentally challenged person, according to the family. Salmanul Harris was beaten up by the girl's brother and friends who said he texted him on WhatsApp. The youth was stopped on the way by the gang, questioned and beaten. They captured footage of the youth being assaulted on their mobile selves and circulated them on social media. The footage shows the youth being surrounded, abused and beaten with a stick. The youth alleged in the video that they sent an obscene message to a sixth-grade girl on WhatsApp.
