Chandy’s security beefed up following terror alert
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Security has been tightened for Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and at the state Secretariat after the Chief Minister’s office received a letter, signed by Indian Mujahideen, on Saturday, warning that the Secretariat would be bombed and Chief Minister be murdered on 1 May.
The letter will be handed to the Home Ministry soon. The visitors will be allowed to enter Secretariat only after checking. As part of security arrangement, bomb squad conducted a search at the secretariat.
The source of the letter is being investigated. The authorities said that thought there is no address of the sender in the letter, the source could be traced. The letter contained foul expressions.
