No need for special prosecutor in Suryanelli case, state tells court
KOCHI: The state government informed the Kerala High Court that there is no need for a special prosecutor in the Suryanelli case. A special prosecutor cannot be appointed in order to protect the interests of private persons.
The government said this while replying to Suryanelli victim’s plea demanding a special prosecutor to agrue her version in the case.
The home department through an affidavit informed that they have full faith in the director general of prosecution in conducting the case and no need has arisen to appoint a prosecutor in the Suryanelli case.
