PATHANAMTHITTA: The family members of the children who had fallen off a giant wheel and died in Chittar have said that they would approach the court. The investigation going on into the incident is not satisfactory.
The children who died were Alan (5) and Priyanka (15), the children of Chittar Kulathingal Saji-Biju couple.
The case was investigated by Chittar CI. After a complaint was given against him, the case was transferred to Pathanamthitta DySP. Police have filed an FIR, accusing four persons in the case.
Meanwhile, the parents have alleged that no investigation was carried against Chittar Gramapanchayat, which had given permission to conduct carnival without the permission of departments concerned and by only levying entertainment tax.
KPCC president V M Sudheeran has demanded that the accident be probed under the guidance of the chief secretary. He was speaking to media persons after visiting the parents. “The parents of the children have complained regarding the probe first conducted by Chittar CI and then by Pathanamthitta DySP. Under these circumstances, a high-level probe should be conducted into the issue under the supervision of the chief secretary," he said.
